Like all football clubs at all levels we are actively seeking new sources of investment to keep us ticking over.  Although all our players pay subs for training and the majority of matches we require funds for even the simplest of things.  Some of our costs include:

• Equipment - Matchballs, training bibs, training balls, cones, etc
• Hire costs - Pitch hire for training (weekly), pitch hire for matches, referee hire for matches, etc
• Kit - We are currently trying to save to add a white home kit to prevent kit clashes
• Tournament costs - Entering tournaments around the country and hosting our own charity supporters tournament every year

To help raise funds we're looking for a sponsor.  We're open to consider pretty much any proposal, but here are a few ideas of how you and/or your company could lend a hand to FC Rearguard and get exposure around the country throughout the season.

Secondary kit sponsorship

Whilst it remains possible FC Rearguard will continue to wear official Tranmere kits for their matches to keep their identity of a Tranmere Rovers supporters team when playing other teams from around the UK and Europe, therefore the front of the shirt is predominantly taken by the Wirral logo.

However, we would be willing to listen to ideas to sponsor other parts of the shirt and kit.  Your companies logo could appear above or below the number on the rear of the shirt and/or on the rear of the shorts.

Website sponsorship

Another way to sponsor us could be to sponsor fcrearguard.co.uk and have your company name on every page on the website in the website header.  An example is shown below:

Merseyside Supporters Tournament sponsorship

In 2006 we hosted our first tournament which was contested by supporters teams from Liverpool, Everton, Grimsby, Shrewsbury and Stockport amongst others.  We will again be hosting it in May 2007 with all proceeds going to Claire House Children's Hospice again.  If you'd like to put your company name to this, get in touch.

Trip sponsorship

Another way which may appeal to you or your company is to an FC Rearguard european trip.  We have had invited to play in the European Supporters Cup in Barcelona (hosted at Espanyol's training ground) in 2005, 2006 and again for 2007.  Unfortunately funding has always prevented us from travelling to represent Rovers.

We also have an open invitation to go to Milan for the weekend to play Inter Milan supporters team before taking in a game at the San Siro.  Again lack of funds has put paid to this idea, the most recent occasion being in early 2007. 

Both of these sponsorship opportunities give your or your company the chance to get your name out to football fans in Europe as well as closer to home in any media coverage we are given and coverage on our websites (roversrearguard.com and fcrearguard.co.uk).
